Ninth International Symposium on REACTOR DOSIMETRY ANNOUNCEMENT AND CALL FOR PAPERS September 2 - 6, 1996 Autokongrescentrum Prague, Czech Republic Organized Jointly by EWGRD (European Working Group on Reactor Dosimetry) ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) in cooperation with IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency) Local organization by Czech and Slovak Nuclear Societies and Nuclear Research Institute Rez Sponsored by ENS (European Nuclear Society) ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) General Information: Programme --------- The 9 th. International Symposium on Reactor Dosimetry will be held on September 2 to September 6, 1996 at Prague, Czech Republic. This symposium is held approximately every three years to provide a forum for the interchange of the state-of-art techniques, data bases and standardization of radiation metrology. The symposium will be of value of anyone involved in reactor dosimetry, including researchers, manufactures, and representatives from industry, utilities and regulatory agencies. This symposium is sponsored by - the ENS (European Nuclear Society) - the ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials). Additional co-sponsorship of the symposium is accepted by the Atomic Energy Society of Japan (AESJ). and is expected from - the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) - the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) - the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) - the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) - the American Nuclear Society (ANS) - the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) - Nuclear Standard Board - the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (IEEE) - the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) The symposium is being organized in cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). Topics ------ The theme of the symposium is dosimetry necessary for the assessment of irradiated reactor materials, featuring radiation metrology techniques, data bases and standardization. Under this theme papers are expected in the following areas: - Characterization of neutron and gamma ray environments - Dosimetry techniques, new developments and improvements - Data evaluation procedures and uncertainty analysis - Radiation monitoring of irradiation experiments - Damage correlation and exposure parameters - Nuclear data, benchmarking, calibrations and standards - Neutron and gamma ray transport calculations - Reactor surveillance and plant life management - In-service dosimetry for reactor pressure vessel and internals covering applications such as fission and fusion research, test and reactor experiments and advanced neutron sources. The symposium will be organized into oral presentations, poster sessions and informal round-table workshops. The meeting language will be English. No translation will be provided.
