About “Independent” and “Cumulative” fission yields
“Independent” and “Cumulative” yields are included in fission yield data of
JENDL4.0 Fission Yield Sublibrary and JENDL FP Fission Yields Data File (JENDL/FPY2011).
The independent yields mean expected numbers of each produced nuclide at the moment that fission is occured.
The total expected number is just 2 if fission was only 2body fission,
however, the number is a bit larger than 2 because actual fission yield data is included light nuclides
produced by 3body fission.
The cumulative yields are the numbers include expected amount of products from parent nuclides by (almost β) decay,
and the total number is larger than 2.
In the case of U235 fission yields by thermal neutron incidence in JENDL4.0 Fission Yield Sublibrary,
total independent yield is about 2.0 and total cumulative yield is 8.4.
