First Announcement
- Introduction
- The fifth symposium in this series is scheduled to take place in Xi'an,
one of the capital cities with the richest cultural and historical
treasures in PR China, from Monday, Nov.2 to Friday Nov.6, 1998. These
symposiums were extremely fruitful in the state of the art of fusion
energy, fission power, materials, design and in indicating the
appropriate of R&D activities in Japan and China.
We hope to make this symposium a fruitful, exciting and pleasantly
memorable experience, keeping the high standards of this series meetings
since the first one in Hefei 1993, through the other three in Tokyo
1994, Chengdu 1995, Sapporo 1996.
- Topics
- Besides invited papers,the program of the symposium will include the
following topics:
- System & design
- Blanket & first wall technology
- Fusion & fission materials
- Radiation damage analysis
- Calculational codes and data
- Call for Papers
- Contributors are asked to prepare an one-page abstract, suitable for
direct reproduction with size A4. Please indicate titles in bold
characters, followed by names of authors and affiliations. The deadline
for submission of abstracts is May 1, 1998. In addition to a hardcopy,
an abstract in formatted electronic form is recommended to be sent to
the secretary of the symposium by E-mail.
- Proceedings
- The proceedings will be prepared by ASIPP (Institute of Plasma Physics,
Academia Sinica) after the symposium. Authors should plan to bring the
manuscripts with them to the symposium.
- Social Program
- In addition to the technical program there will be a tour around the
city of Xi'an, rich in historical and cultural treasures, such as the
sights: Bell Tower, Ancient City Wall, the Forest of Steles, the Wild
Goose Pagoda, Hua Qing Hot Springs, Qing Shi Huang's Tomb and some
museums etc.. There will be optional post-conference tours to enjoy the
wealth of unique landscapes and cultural sites of China. A stimulating
hospitality program will be offered for accompanying persons.
